Frequently asked questions

Is the app from the BAMF?

No. Einbürgerungstest 2026 is an unofficial study app by a private developer. Neither the BAMF nor any other authority issued or endorsed it. The questions come from the BAMF's public question catalogue.

How many questions do I need to learn?

310: the 300 general questions and the 10 questions for your federal state. In the app you choose your state and learn exactly these questions.

How does the Einbürgerungstest work?

You answer 33 questions in 60 minutes. You pass with at least 17 correct answers. The 10 mock exams in the app work the same way.

Do I need internet to study?

No. Once downloaded from Google Play, studying works without an internet connection, for example on the train.

Is there an iPhone version?

No. The app is available only for Android, on Google Play.

Which languages does the app support?

The interface is available in German, English, Turkish and Russian. As in the real test, the questions are in German. For every question you can show a translation into English, Turkish or Russian; it is partly machine-translated, and the app notes that the German text is what counts in the test.

What happens to my data?

Your progress is stored only on your device. The app needs no account, shows no ads and contains no tracking. The details are in the app's privacy policy.

Where can I get binding information about naturalisation?

From the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees and the naturalisation authority where you live. This page and the app only prepare you for the test and are no substitute for advice.
